Dylan Nicklin
Your Captain
Dylan’s love for the ocean began with surfing while growing up in Southern California, and deepened in 2021 when he discovered sailing. This passion led him to leave his white-collar career and embrace life aboard his first vessel, Ella Rose. By 2022, he was living nomadically, exploring the Channel Islands and refining his maritime skills. In 2023, while working Harbor Patrol in Two Harbors, Catalina, he realized his true calling was sharing the joy of sailing with others. With over 400 days at sea, he returned to land in September 2024 to earn his U.S. Coast Guard Captain’s License and launched Cerulean Sea Charters, turning his dream into reality.

A Brief History
Mom & Dad
Sailing in the Nicklin family began long ago. Dylan's father David, an Englishman from Newcastle, learned to sail at a young age. In the late 70's David met an American girl (Patricia) on a boat crossing the North Sea. After she returned home to the US, David wrote Patricia letters almost every day. In 1979 they were married and moved to Newport Beach, California. Here they lived on several sailboats, and even ran a small yacht chartering business. Today, Dylan is carrying on that legacy with Cerulean Sea Yacht Charters.
